For me it is a great way of getting in contact with young people like you and hopefully inspire them to go into engineering – It is my way of trying to give something back to society. 🙂

I really enjoy being part of it, your questions are challenging (which is great!) and hope you think the same about this programme. 🙂

I’m a STEM ambassador which means I get involved in a number of programmes / activities between engineers and students in order to inspire the next generation of budding geniuses (just like you!). I really enjoy it and it challenges me to get what I do across without all my jargon and three letter acronyms (or TLAs…yes there’s a acronym for an acronym!!)!

I heard of I’m an Engineer through that and it sounded great! Plus the robotics zone was right up my street so I applied and luckily got picked to answer your questions!

      Just because it sounded fun?

When I was at school I knew nothing about engineering and I feel that I was very lucky to just kind of stumble into it and make the right career choices and finally end up with a job I love – but I could easily have missed out on it just because I didn’t really know what the choices I was making were, and what they would lead to – or away from – in terms of career options.

So that means I’m really keen to help explain what the opportunities are and what you can achieve by following them, to you guys going through the same thing, so that hopefully you can make your decisions in a more informed way, and not have to rely on luck to get fantastic jobs that you enjoy!
