      Hi Polo Boing Boing!
I studied maths, physics and technological studies at school and then used my grades from that to go to university. I went to the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow to gain my degree, an MEng in Mechanical Engineering.

Formal education like school is not for everyone though although you may think an engineer has to be academically smart and love schoolwork, that’s not the case. There are many different ways to get in to engineering, for example apprenticeships where you take on more of a hands-on role and do some study at the same time, therefore seeing how the theory relates to the practical.
