Haha I suppose folk would say I was smart at school, but to be honest I just found it clicked with me and I understood how to pass exams. There are many different forms of “smart” too, there are those who are academically smart (the typical definition of smart), those who are emotionally smart (very good at working with and getting the most from people), and the practically smart (very hands on, streetwise people) to highlight but a few.

Formal education like school is not for everyone though although you may think an engineer has to be academically smart and love schoolwork, that’s not the case. There are many different ways to get in to engineering, for example apprenticeships where you take on more of a hands-on role and do some study at the same time, therefore seeing how the theory relates to the practical.
